Remediation Works Update, 21 December 2017

What have we achieved this year?

Over the past nine months, the Rehabilitating Roe 8 Working Group has worked with the community and government agencies to remove mulch, asbestos and construction fencing, and provide conservation-style fencing. A draft rehabilitation management plan for the next decade is being finalised – thank you to everyone for your input into this.

On 30 November, the contractors handed the site back to Main Roads. Arrangements are now being made to purchase tubestock for planting next winter, manage and maintain weeds and tracks, and collect seeds. Main Roads are liaising with the City of Cockburn about taking on future management of the Corridor.

Wishing you all a safe holiday period and see you in 2018 for opportunities to plant, weed and learn more about restoration work.
