Djilba Season Celebration

Last Saturday morning saw a number of local residents and visitors joined a guided indigenous walk in the corridor. The walk was guided by local Nyungar woman Marissa Verma from Bindi Bindi Dreaming. Participants enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and wildflowers of the Djilba season while learning about Nyungar customs and culture including bush tucker foods and the seasonal movements of tribes across the Swan Coastal Plain. Marissa entertained all with wonderful stories and information bringing light to the important value of bushland for cultural connections to country.
