Aboriginal Weaving Workshop – Lea Taylor

A group of women joined Lea Taylor at the Wetlands Centre for a weaving workshop and an insight into her cultural heritage and history.

Lea is a Bibbulmun Artist from the Wadandi Menang and Koreng nations in Western Australia and an award-winning artist from Creative Culture. She guided attendees with her way of weaving, with everyone being able to begin a weave, most starting baskets, while others creating earrings or placemats. Attendees were able to bring their masterpieces home and continue in their own time.

The workshop was very insightful and relaxing surrounded by Banksia and Balga.
