Archaeologists will be carrying out an Aboriginal archaeological survey in the vicinity of North Lake and Bibra Lake next week to look for Aboriginal artifacts.
The area has strong indigenous cultural heritage values and is listed as a site with the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage. These survey will increase understanding with regards to heritage conservation and protection.
Aboriginal monitors will be on site and two facilitated consultation sessions were held with Traditional Owners, who are all supportive of the archaeological dig.
